Review: Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine - Grapefruit

I am loving this shade of Barry's M Gelly Hi-Shine nail polish. It a vibrant hot pink, perfect for this glorious sunny weather we are having. I could not stop looking at this when I first put it on. The finish is glossy and shiny. Love shiny things!

It has a quick drying time. Less than 10 minutes I'd say which is perfect for me and my impatience! Also only one coat is needed as well as no top coat. Happy days!

It started to chip on day 2 for me but I don't mind as I tend to change up my nail polish fairly quickly. Or just take it off as it doesn't last 2 mins at work :(

I have a 2 more of these Gelly polishes to review. I must say I wasn't impressed when I first used it but I gave it time and I now love the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine collection of nail polishes. I was tempted to pick up Lychee however my head told me not to after reading a few disappointing reviews on it's drying time and consistency. If this has changed do please let me know as I would love to try it.

I well definitely be picking up some more of these nail polishes in the future. Any recommendations?

Nail Art: Polka Dot Time

Quick nail of the day from me today! I decided to put some polka dots over my Essie Watermelon polish. I recently spoke of my interest in nail art so I thought I should start off easy!

polka dotty :)

Collective Haul

Hello beautiful people! How are you all on this morning that belongs to Thursday!?

First things first, this is from the last 3 months. This is not all from the one shopping trip! Imagine my bank balance if I did this damage all in one go. Minus, Minus, Minus! Thank god for 3 for 2's, sales and advantage cards is all I can say! I think I forgot to include a few things but how as ever. Here's the madness!

From Clinque to Catrice and everything in between seems to be here! I have started reviewing some of the stuff. I am very bad with reviewing, great at buying though!

My first Essie polish!!

I finally achieved my goal of owning an Essie nail polish! I was strolling (I love to stroll) through Shaws yesterday and out of the corner of my eye I spied the Essie stand. I turned a very abruptly 90 degrees towards the stand. So abruptly that even another shopper turned to see what had got me so excited. She too spent ages and ages picking out polishes. Sooo many colours and they are all arranged by shade. Heaven!

Yes! It really is Essie!

Nail Polish Collection March 2013

I don't know what it is about nail polish but I just never seem to have enough. Every time Boots has 3 for 2, a nail polish always has to be bought! Barry M and Rimmel are my favourite brands although NYC is fast becoming a new favourite. I am so far having a hit and miss relationship with Model's Own, I really want to like it so I'm gonna keep trying until it's right! There a couple of nail polishes here I want to share my views on with you, I feel a couple of reviews on the horizon! I better get cracking! I know I don't have as much as other nail bloggers but I am quite impressed with my own collection. To be honest though, I only ever seem to wear purples, golds, and browns. I need to make use of the other colours I have available to me. There's plenty there!

Some brands I really wanna try are butterLondon, OPI, Ciate and China Glaze. I keep seeing bloggers raving about them. I need to get my hands on them! I'm also dying to try nail art out. It kinda scares me a bit! Does anyone have hints or tips on nail art? Leave a comment below or some links to posts you've written on nail art. I'd love to read them! :)

Review: Model's Own Golden Peach & Snowflakes

Two of the polishes from my recent haul. Golden Peach and Snowflakes from Model's Own. My photos here are of one coat of Golden Peach. It's a peach colour with a golden shimmer, I tried my best to capture the shimmer. I don't know if I managed it atall!I like this colour, it makes my nails look longer. They have been getting shorter and shorter recently due to breakage from work. *sob*

Another Beauty Haul

Ooops! I went shopping again. I only meant to buy clothes but once I got caught at the Urban Decay counter shur I couldn't say no. I was beyond bold to be honest! I went to Boots to get a powder and nail polish, we can see how well that went!

Out of the 11 things I bought (jaysus!), I actually only needed the concealer, the powder and strengthening nail polish. Boots had 3 for 2's and Buy 1 Get 1 Half Price all over the gap. Rather than me take advantage of them, they took advantage of me. Big time!!

Nails of the Week

This was my first nail colour this week. Purple! I got this in Penney's about 2 years ago. Glo Baby Glo. It's meant to glow under UV but I don't tend to venture near UV lights!
It needed to 2 coats to be classified as a deep purple. It doesn't look it here but it was a bit darker than Cadbury's purple.
The polish went on easy enough and wasn't messy. No doubt it was cheap enough so I can have no complaints here!

I was bored one night and when organising my nail polishes (might do a post on that!). I found my Rimmel - Flower Power. It's a very very very light shimmer pink. I decided to see what it would be like over the Glo Baby Glo purple.

Nails of the Week: Oldies

I wanted to try out some nail polishes I haven't used in a while.

First up was Barry M's Lemon. Mmmh, I know now why I haven't used it lately. It is so watery. I wasn't happy at all so then I decided to put H&M's Cracked Nail Polish over it to umph it up a bit. I think it did the trick. I love the colour of the Lemon but I'd rather a polish be thick than watery. I love other Barry M polishes but this one was just not up their usual standard.

Nails of the Week: Model's Own

Hello! I know I'm not very good at these nail posts but I promise to try and get better! Anyway here's what I wore this week.

I won this bottle of Model's Own Hedonist from Saira at The Girl With The Green Nails. I have been a long time admirer of Model's Own and couldn't believe I'd finally get to try it out. I love love love this. The colour is so me. I love bright neony colours and this is certainly bright! You probably can't see the neon but trust me. I think it's the brightest polish I have ever seen. It has quickly become one of my favourites :) I only used one coat because it is very thick, which means being careful as is it did tend to get a little messy but believe me it's worth it.

I know it's winter and we're 'meant' to be wearing darker, neutral colours but I never go with trends. I just wear what I want. This is more a summer shade but I do not care. I'm gonna brighten up our dark, dull winter with this blinding dose of colour!

Nails of the Week

In the past week, I have painted my nails twice.

The first colour is No. 23 from Bourjois 10 Days Nail Enamel Collection. I didn't think I was going to like the colour but after a few days I loved it. It's a soft pastel pink as opposed to the bright bold pinks I prefer. I also only wore it for about 6 days but I must say it did last very well.
