Lipstick Review: Girl About Town

I have been building up to try more out there pinks. While I was in MAC innocently picking up a new foundation to replace one that had finished (see I do use things up!) I somehow ended up by the lipsticks.

Girl About Town has been on my wishlist for some time now. I decided to bite the bullet and just buy it. It is now my favourite lipstick and it gets alot of queries on nights out because it's so fabulous!

I let myself make 2 trips to MAC last month. I was well behaved the first day, however my second trip went slightly out of hand! My nearest MAC counter is located in Brown Thomas. I adore the shopping bags from BTs.

Liebster Awards

I was nominated for the Liebster Award by Kelly from MonPetitBlog. I have been blogging for a year but nothing serious. This is a hobby and I know I sometimes lack in the post department! I'm delighted that my little has been noticed by someone!

The Liebster Award is passed between bloggers (like a chain letter I guess) with less than 1000 followers, although sometimes I read 200 followers. I don't think it matters though!

Liebster means dearest, beloved from my research. These Liesbter Awards are a great way to find new blogs and promote your favourite blogs.

1. Fashion or beauty

Beauty. I'm clueless when it comes to fashion. At least with beauty I know what I can and cannot wear!

 

2. What is your all time favorite brand?

Benefit. I don't know what it is but I go weak at their counter and need to buy everything.

 

3. What’s the best thing that happened for you this year?

Got myself a job, made new friends and booked a trip to London. All connected to each other.

 

4. Who do you spend the most time with?

My friends. They get me!

 I listen to most types of music as you can see from my Music of the Week posts on here.

6. Where have you travelled to?

Turkey, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Scotland, Wales and England. I have been outside of Europe. I want to go Las Vegas, New York, Texas, LA, Australia, South Africa and Cancun. Anyone want to volunteer to fund this!?

7. Texting or phoning?

 Texting and I'm not even the best at that! I prefer talking face to face.

8. If you could pick 1 thing to do tomorrow what would it be?

Travel!

9. And who would you take with you?

My bestie. She's as mad as I am so we'd have no problems going new places.

 

10. Favorite accent?

Um, I have never had a favourite accent. Maybe the north one. Tommy Bowe's accent. Yummy!

Tan Review: Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan

I'm not an avid fake tanner by any means but when I do use it I know what I like. I don't want a smelly, orange tan that takes about 12 hours to develop. Who has that kinda time to prep so far in advance!?

I am the skin tone translucent. I am so pale I am see through!

Cocoa Brown is the brain child of Irish beautician Marissa Carter. I can't thank her enough for bringing this fantabulous tan into life.

Real Techniques: Stippling Brush Review

Back in January with my first wages, I splashed out on the Real Techniques Stippling Brush. I had been eyeing it up for a while and I feel this is well worth the investment. I haven't used any other foundation brush since.

Designed by Samantha Chapman a professional makeup artist and vlogger. (You can visit Pixiwoo for tutorials or the Real Techniques website.) The RT collection of brushes come in a coloured coded system, so you can create a flawless finish with the gold handle brushes, enhance your eyes with the purple handle brushes and achieve the perfect base with the pink handle brushes.The brush names are also on the handle which is handy! The brushes are made with taklon synthetic bristles which mean they are cruelty free.

Review: Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine - Grapefruit

I am loving this shade of Barry's M Gelly Hi-Shine nail polish. It a vibrant hot pink, perfect for this glorious sunny weather we are having. I could not stop looking at this when I first put it on. The finish is glossy and shiny. Love shiny things!

 It has a quick drying time. Less than 10 minutes I'd say which is perfect for me and my impatience! Also only one coat is needed as well as no top coat. Happy days!

It started to chip on day 2 for me but I don't mind as I tend to change up my nail polish fairly quickly. Or just take it off as it doesn't last 2 mins at work :(

I have a 2 more of these Gelly polishes to review. I must say I wasn't impressed when I first used it but I gave it time and I now love the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine collection of nail polishes. I was tempted to pick up Lychee however my head told me not to after reading a few disappointing reviews on it's drying time and consistency. If this has changed do please let me know as I would love to try it.

I well definitely be picking up some more of these nail polishes in the future. Any recommendations?

Midweek Blues Lightened: Summer Time

Hey everyone!

Hope ye are all enjoying the fantastic weather out there. Summer has arrived, unfortunately for those doing exams. It has happened to everyone before you. The sun always appears at this time of year! Best of luck to any of my readers doing exams. You'll be grand!

Sorry I haven't been posting lately. Hit a bout of Bloggers Block and this week I'm struck down with illness. Been to the doctor though so I should be right as rain soon :)

River Island Wishlist and Handbags & Purses Collection

I am obsessed with the handbags and purses River Island have to offer. Currently I possess 3 handbags and 2 purses of theirs, I have probably drooled (not literally of course!) over hundreds of them! I buy them for my friends on their birthdays or Christmas (did I just say that word!) and they are always loved. They have bags of all shapes, sizes and colours. You will find what you desire in this shop.

Midweek Blues Lightened: Gold Forever

This Wednesday I introduce to you all a song from this band The Wanted you might have heard me mention once or twice... The song is 2 years old but it will still gets a smile out of me :) It was the official Comic Relief single in 2011. And it is easily one of my favourites from them.

The video is a good laugh as well. They don't take themselves too seriously! As you can all judge for yourselves here.

I also had to give in and post their new video for Walks Like Rihanna. They are taking the piss yet again! Can't wait to see them this summer. Gonna be a well deserved laugh and a pick me up because this 'summer' so far is bringing us all down! Yikes!

Lipstick Review: Catrice Ultimate Colour 210

First thing I love about this lipstick is the packaging. The tidy, black glossy look makes its so sleek and sexy. It snaps shut with a clicky sound so you know for sure it's closed. My mother always loses the lids for lipsticks. I don't think she listens for the clicky sound!

I have branched out to pink lipsticks. Adventurous! I'm getting there with my lipstick collection :)

Hello beautiful people! How are you all on this morning that belongs to Thursday!?

First things first, this is from the last 3 months. This is not all from the one shopping trip! Imagine my bank balance if I did this damage all in one go. Minus, Minus, Minus! Thank god for 3 for 2's, sales and advantage cards is all I can say! I think I forgot to include a few things but how as ever. Here's the madness!

Review: Tangle Teezer

You know when you read so much about something and you think to yourself 'this will never live up to the hype'. This is how I felt about the Tangle Teezer. I am glad to say I was mistaken :)

Don't get me wrong, I knew the Tangle Teezer would be good I just didn't realise how good!

I love mine and can't believe how easy it is to brush my hair now. My hair is thick and long, I have spent years and years battling with my hair (I even had to get it thinned a few times!). I love having long hair and I could never imagine cutting it. I needed a solution.

I saw this episode of Father Ted a few weeks ago and it still manages to get me into knots from laughter! I have never met anyone who doesn't like Ted, Dougal & Co. or this song. It gets a great laugh out of everyone and I have sung it once or twice while merry ;)

My first Essie polish!!

I finally achieved my goal of owning an Essie nail polish! I was strolling (I love to stroll) through Shaws yesterday and out of the corner of my eye I spied the Essie stand. I turned a very abruptly 90 degrees towards the stand. So abruptly that even another shopper turned to see what had got me so excited. She too spent ages and ages picking out polishes. Sooo many colours and they are all arranged by shade. Heaven!

Yes! It really is Essie!
